Will Layman
Keyboard, Saxophone, Vocals
Will Layman was named the very first Kennedy Center Honoree for his extensive work as a vegetarian mime. After sharing the stage with both Charlton Heston and Flip Wilson, Will began a controversial period in Los Angeles, developing sit-coms based on the writings of Today Show meteorologist Willard Scott. Cloudy, with a Low Front Coming from the East tested as the most successful pilot in the history of CBS, but it was canceled after three episodes when the producers refused to let Tony Danza wear a bra under his wet suit. Then Will entered high school in New Jersey.
Will is both a writer and musician, though it is considered nearly impossible to inscribe the text of Howl on the face of an alto saxophone reed. Will was a runner-up in the 2000 John Lennon songwriting contest, jazz, for "The Way You Love Me Blues." He played with Larry "Big Red" Joseloff in the smarty-pants rock band Avant Gaardvark. Currently, Will slings both jazz and blues with DC's Ready, Set, Go, works as a jazz and rock critic for PopMatters.com, and is probably wearing edible sunglasses.
Will wants to dedicate his tenure with Ten Feet Tall to the less fortunate crockery all around the DC area.
